Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojna 2022(PKVY)
In India, soil health is degrading constantly in most of its regions, and the Government of India is facing a big challenge to improve the soil condition that's why the Ministry of Agriculture and farmers welfare introduces a scheme called Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojna in 2015 that mainly focuses on traditional methods of farming to preserve minerals in the soil and improve the soil quality. Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojna is an extended component of soil health management which was under National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture(NMSA). Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojna mainly aims to promote and support organic farming to improve soil health condition and make soil more fertile.
Launch Year -This scheme is launched in 2015.
Ministry -Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojna is launched by Ministry of Agriculture & Farmer's Welfare.
Funding Pattern -Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojna is a centrally sponsored scheme which means-
- 60:40 -between Centre and State government.
- 90:10 -between Centre and north-eastern and Himalayan states.
- 100%-Centre for UTs.
- Promote organic farming among youth farmers and villagers.
- Promote the use of modern technologies available in organic farming.
- Organise at least one cluster demonstration in a village.
- Make use of the services of experts from the public agricultural research system in India.
- To motivate a group of farmers to adopt organic farming through a cluster approach.
- Fifty or more farmers having 50-acre land will form a cluster.
- During 3 years 10000 clusters will be formed that mainly aim at adopting and promoting organic farming.
- PGS certificate is provided to all the farmers who get enrolled in a cluster and adopt organic farming.
- Every farmer will get Rs 20000 per acre for inputs, value addition and marketing.
